I want to be like my Father God

The most natural thing in the world is to become like our parents even when we don't want to become like our parents! Isn't it amazing? I've heard people say, "When I grow up, I'm not gonna be like my father!" Or, "I'm not going to be like my mother." Yet when they grow up, they are just like their father or mother. Why? Because they know their parents; they've been around them. Their mother's or father's thumbprint is indelibly imprinted on their lives.
That's the way it is with God our Father. The more I get to know my God, the more I become like Him. I discover He's holy; I want to be holy. I discover He's good; I want to be better. I discover He's strong; I want to be more confident. I discover He's in control; I don't want to panic my way through life. I don't want to ricochet from one event to another; I want to move through life calmly, consistently. I want to be like my Father. And in order to be like Him, I need to know what He is like.
