FAITH CAN MOVE YOUR MOUNTAINS! -
anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says
will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you,
whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold
anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in
heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:22-26
It is June and school is out. Summer and vacation times are here.
It is not always how far you go, or how much money you spend, but it
is doing something different with your children in the summer. What
do you like to do? Take your children to the beach or to the lake,
go fishing or go on a trip to see mountains and go hiking. You need
to spend some time with your children and it does not always have to
cost a lot of money.
As I was thinking about summertime, I remembered when I went with
two of our grown children and our grandchildren to see Stone Mountain
in Georgia. Stone Mountain is the largest exposed mountain in the
world with 583 acres of exposed granite. On one side of the
mountain they have "The Memorial Carving" which measures 90 feet by
190 feet which shows three Southern heros of the Civil War on their
horses. It was very big and majestic. Imagine someone having a
vision to drill a picture into a mountain! I wonder what his family
and friends thought! It took many years, but what an accomplishment
for millions of others to see and enjoy for how many generations?
What can you and I chisel into our heritage for our families to see
for generations to come? I chose to imprint into my family's hearts
and minds that marriages are forever. God can heal hurting and dead
marriages in spite of all our different issues. Today I pray that
you will receive a vision from your Lord God of what your future can
be by the power of your Lord Jesus Christ restoring your marriage.
What mountain of circumstances are you facing right now? Are you
facing marriage problems, separation, divorce, health problems,
addictions, financial problems, your young children are hurting,
your teenagers are angry or rebelling, or do you have silence from
your spouse? Could your mountain be even bigger because your spouse
and the other person have a baby or they talking about marriage?
Allow your Lord to level your mountains of circumstances.
" I will go before you and will level the mountains." Isaiah 45:2
"A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way for the
LORD ; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind
together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
Isaiah 40:3-5
Wow! What powerful scriptures. Yes, your mountains of obstacles
may look huge and impossible to be moved. But God, our Lord can
level and shrink your mountains to be made low and can take the
valley of depression or oppression to be raised up so that you can
see the highway to God's will and way in your marriage.
"O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long
shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the
boy here to me." Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the
boy, and he was healed from that moment. Then the disciples came
to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He
replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth,
if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this
mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will
be impossible for you." Matthew 17:17-20
How would you rate your level of faith today? Never forget what
your Lord Jesus spoke in scriptures. I know that when I was
praying, waiting for Bob to return home, people at church would say
that I had such faith. They had noticed the difference in what I
was speaking about my divorce and circumstances. I was speaking
what the Word of God was saying and even showing them scriptures in
the Bible. I had become a woman of faith and did not know it until
people commented about it.
Should we Christians not be all men and women of faith according to
God's Word? We need to walk in faith and believe God's Word. I
chose to take that leap of faith and wait forever for my spouse to
come home to his wife and children. I knew what the Lord had spoken
to my heart, so I wanted to be like a Abraham or a Noah. I was
willing to drill a picture of our family into a mountain to remind
my husband that we were waiting for him forever!
I pray that today you will make the decision to pray and wait for
your spouse forever. Now don't speak all the negative circumstances
that are going on in both of your lives, but speak to your mountain
of circumstances and pray, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and
now do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you said will
happen, and it will be done for you. Remember, with this scripture
there is a condition. If you are holding unforgiveness or
bitterness in your heart against anyone, forgive them, so your
Heavenly Father will forgive you of your own sins.
Over the head of our bed today hangs a picture of a beautiful
mountain and lake scene that I bought as a visual reminder twenty
years ago, when I was right where you are today--praying and fighting
Satan for a marriage the world called hopeless. I needed to look at
that mountain picture every day for me to know that my Lord meant
this scripture for me to believe in my impossible situation. What is
your impossible situations or mountain today?
True faith involves a commitment of your whole self and being to
your Lord God, following His will and way in your life and
marriage. You must "believe" which is faith, hope and trust in your
Lord. Believing is confessing from your heart of His mighty power.
Believing includes action, but also the heartfelt confidence of
knowing that God is who He says He is and does what He says He will
do! "Now mountain of separation and divorce, go throw yourself into
the sea!"
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly
rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the
will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
Hebrews 11:35-36
