….and you can’t change it.

Pa OBJ*, some stood afar from the crowd,
to witness your narcissist exuding cloud.
Your salient achievements, in spite of the mood,
were step stones to larders, containing our food.

Why, when in the midst of that bacchanal call,
were you that somnolent, and not stand as tall?
That rabble of cohorts, standing in the fore,
spewed visions of grandeur and tales of splendor.

You! Eminent person, and man of the voice.
A pillar to disseminate citizens ‘choice.
Your self-abnegation, when voices were raised,
fuelled an a la carte third term craze.

And slowly but surely, our ‘buja guardians,
began then to muster against charlatans.
Your century plus million, then joined the fray,
summoning all powers. to black out that day.

And you, oh Hercules, then banished your chords.
Avante-garde in wisdom, you created fjords.
And seepingly, hard work of seven years old,
‘came withered, pulverized, condemned to the cold.

What glory, what honour you just did not do.
You flounced and then floundered without any clue.
And when the lawmakers, then threw out for real,
extended aspirations, you started to deal.

T’was lack of a vision? Is that your forte?
You silenced a thunder- not making your day.
No victor, no vanquished, we really must say,
.but you, my good people, just sit deep and pray.
